Jul 18, 2021Discussion Starter#12Jul 17, 2021. after locating a faulty ignition wire i got the ecu to turn on. with the key in the ON position i manually jumped the starter and the DET fires right up. no grinding, skipping, spudder, etc. just a good, strong and steady 750rpm idle. AMAZING!!! engine revs up nice and holds higher rpm steady as well.

Had to use 3 shims on the inboard. side to move starter shaft away from teeth on. flywheel. Problem is, when starting the starter makes a high pitched noise as it cranks the engine.

Jun 19, 2021Okay, I emailed Mike at LSD Motorsports and he got back to me the next day with the written spec and also a link to a pdf of basically every flywheel step spec for ever car and tractor (seriously) that I could imagine. He said it was 0.065, and I double checked the manual, and for whatever reason it said 0.065 cup or 0.112 step.

Mar 31, 2021This area wears out and you get the grinding problem. You can replace just the gear but the flywheel will need to come off. I removed mine years ago and clocked the gear around and got more time till I needed to replace it. If you have an auto there is a complete flywheel on Ebay for $20.00.
